A meeting of DSPNS Board of Management (BOM) was held on Monday 29th January 2024.
Items on the agenda included the Principal’s Report, Treasurer’s Report, Voluntary Contributions (VCs), Communications, and Maintenance report. Specific items included:
- The Board reviewed and ratified two policies: Anti-Bullying and Jobshare / Career Break Leave.
- The Board received a tax refund of €7153 from 2019 VCs and is in the process of claiming refunds for 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. Sincere thanks to families for making Voluntary Contributions – a significant and much-needed income for the school. Reminder emails will issue in late February for those who may still intend to contribute.
- The Board thanks the PTA for supporting, through their fundraising activities, extra-curricular activities such as dance, gymnastics, play therapy, half the cost of buses for school trips, licence costs for local school leagues, gardening items, half the annual cost of forest school, student council items, updating aistear/play equipment.
- The Board appreciates the activities of the Student Council, (planning to improve yard time, fundraising for charity), the Changemaker Committee (connecting with local schools, identifying local politicians who can help advocate for change) and the Green Committee/Garden Club (planting vegetables and biodiversity focus).
