Student Council

Thursday was the first meeting of the Student Council. Classes from 1st to 6th Class held elections, made posters, speeches and some even rapped! Students used proportional representation in voting to make sure their choice was used to the fullest effect. 

First point of business was a discussion around creating 4 Square (a game) courts and fairly sharing the yard. Ideas for fundraising activities, improving class libraries and how best come together for school assemblies in the most inclusive manner were also discussed. 

The first Student Council meeting of the year took place on our bright, newly painted benches upstairs on the patio in the sunshine. This is an area that is constantly in use by the classes and all the children would like to send a massive thank you to the fabulous parents who have committed their time and energy into breathing new life into this much used space! Work on this area is ongoing, with raised beds and art for the walls currently being discussed and organised.

Samhain Celebration

Halloween is coming! The children are looking forward to the fun of all the associated school activities. The art work is spooktacular and there is plenty of chat about costumes and the Samhain celebrations on Friday.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff, PTA reps and parents who are involved in making tomorrow’s celebration a monstrously fun afternoon for the kids. We hope they all have a brilliant time!
