The student council met yesterday to decide on which flag to raise for the next month or two. After much debate and discussion they decided on the green flag.

The green flag represents learning about our environment and how to care for the world around us. Some children simply like the design: “I chose the green flag because it matches the colour of the school.” “I chose the green flag because green is my favourite colour.” “I chose the green flag because it’s like spring is coming.”

Speaking of spring, the vegetable bed behind the picture of the student council has many sprouting plants. All our vegetable beds have beautiful green shoots thanks to the work of the Green Committee and Garden Club. We are observing progress in the beds day by day and hope to have garlic, onions, beans and other delicious vegetables in spring/summer.
