January can be a dark, cold, dreary time and many people’s mental health can be affected. Emotional intelligence includes learning that we can identify ways to turn ourselves from feeling sad and worried to hopeful and content. It’s different for everyone.
Perhaps you can have chats at home about what works for you. A story at bedtime? Hot chocolate? Loud music? A walk in the woods. Silence? Coffee and a chat with a friend? A hug? Five minutes peace? Dancing?
