This week pupils from the Czech Republic who had been in Irish schools during the week came to Forest Friday. They were on their school tour to explore different kinds of education in Ireland. On Thursday they spent the day in DSP so it was lovely to welcome them to Forest School. And Killiney Hill really showed off its beauty. One of the benefits of welcoming visitors is that we get to see our ‘normal’ with new eyes and appreciate how amazing it is to be surrounded by the sea and beauty of nature.

This was a lovely opportunity for 6th class to be guides and to practice sharing games and activities. Each of our three groups of ten children had four Czech students.
We started with some games and a bud hunt.

Then we went up to our base.

We drew postcards of our beautiful surroundings and used nature to colour.

We finished with sit spot then gathering and sharing what we noticed and what we were grateful for during the morning and drinking gorse tea. Our visitors loved looking over the sea, a big treat when you are from a land locked country.
